Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh – The Communist Party of India (CPI) is set to hold its National Executive Meeting in Visakhapatnam on January 30 and 31, 2025. Party leaders from across the nation will convene to deliberate on various issues concerning both the Union and State governments and to outline the party's future strategies. 

In conjunction with the CPI's centenary celebrations, a seminar titled "CPI's Role in Modern India's Development and Future Challenges" is scheduled for January 29 at 5 PM at the Public Library in Visakhapatnam. CPI National General Secretary D. Raja will address the seminar, emphasizing the party's historical contributions and the challenges ahead. 

During a recent press briefing, CPI State Assistant Secretary J.V. Satyanarayana Murthy called for a comprehensive investigation into corruption allegations against YSR Congress Party leader and former Rajya Sabha MP V. Vijayasai Reddy. Murthy urged the State government to initiate a probe led by a sitting High Court judge, asserting that the alleged corrupt activities have tarnished Visakhapatnam's reputation. He also questioned the NDA government's inaction, noting that despite being in power for seven months, no steps have been taken following BJP State President Purandeswari's letter to the Supreme Court regarding these allegations. 

The upcoming National Executive Meeting and seminar underscore the CPI's ongoing commitment to addressing pressing national and regional issues as it commemorates a century of political engagement in India.
