Visakhapatnam Port Authority Hosts All India Major Ports' Carrom Championship

Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh – The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) is currently hosting the All India Major Ports (AIMP) Carrom Championship 2024-25 at the Port Indoor Stadium. The three-day event, which commenced on January 28 and concludes on January 30, features participation from nine major ports across the country: Mumbai, Deendayal, Kolkata, Chennai, Paradip, Jawaharlal Nehru, New Mangalore, Kamarajar, and the host port, Visakhapatnam Port Authority.
The championship was inaugurated by VPA Deputy Chairperson Durgesh Kumar Dubey, who hoisted the AIMP flag and released balloons to mark the occasion. In his address, Dubey highlighted the importance of carrom as a game that requires skill, practice, and mental application, emphasizing its growing popularity across the country. He encouraged all players to participate with true sportsmanship and enjoy the warm hospitality extended by VPA.
During the inauguration, the VPA Deputy Chairperson also felicitated eminent international carrom player Janardhan Reddy of Visakhapatnam, extending best wishes for his upcoming tournaments.
