In a tragic incident that unfolded during the night between Sunday and Monday, a massive fire wreaked havoc at the Visakhapatnam fishing harbour.

The conflagration, originating from a single boat, swiftly engulfed more than 25 mechanized fishing vessels anchored at the harbor.

Local fishermen and the police reported that the intensity of the blaze was exacerbated by the rapid spread of flames from one boat to another in close proximity. 

Adding to the chaos, the situation took a perilous turn as LPG cylinders on the boats exploded, generating a deafening roar that echoed through the harbor.

The incident plunged the area into a state of panic, with onlookers and residents grappling with the enormity of the situation.

The loss of over two dozen boats has not only dealt a severe blow to the local fishing community but has also underscored the urgent need for comprehensive safety measures at such vital maritime facilities.
