Tribute to the Fearless Queen of Jhansi: Veeravanita's Enduring Legacy

Born on 19 November 1828, Veeravanita Jhansi Lakshmibai, the queen of Jhansi in northern India, emerged as a central figure in the initial stages of the Indian independence movement.

Her remarkable role unfolded during the sepoy revolt against British rule in 1857, marking her as a symbol of courage and resistance in the annals of Indian history.

Veeravanita's legacy as the queen of Jhansi under British rule has left an indelible mark on the country's collective memory. To honor her contribution to the struggle for independence, a Mahila Morcha (Women's Front) was organized in East Constituency Visalakshi Nagar.

The event, spearheaded by Smt. Sujatha Raj, the Women President of Visakhapatnam Parliamentary District, served as a poignant tribute to Veeravanita, celebrating her as an inspiring role model for women across the nation.
