Senior IPS Officer Takes Over as State Police Chief
The government has issued orders appointing senior IPS officer Dr.Jitender as the new Director General of Police (DGP) for Telangana. He replaces the current DGP, Ravi Gupta, who has been transferred to the position of Special Chief Secretary in the Home Department.
Jitender, a 1992 IPS batch officer, has an extensive career in law enforcement, having served as ASP in Nirmal, Additional SP in Bellampalli, SP in Mahbubnagar and Guntur districts, and DIG of Visakhapatnam Range. Prior to this appointment, he was serving as the Principal Secretary of the Home Department.
