In a daring escape, seven fishermen from Visakhapatnam managed to swim to safety after their boat capsized near Appikonda on Wednesday. The incident occurred when a mechanized fishing boat, owned by Duda Das and identified as IND-AP-VS-245, departed from Vizag Fishing Harbour.
However, the vessel encountered turbulent waves, causing it to break apart, posing a grave threat to the crew's safety.

Vasupalli Janakiram, The president of the AP Mechanised Fishing Boats Owners Association, confirmed the incident, emphasizing the severity of the waves that led to the boat's destruction, estimated to be worth Rs 40 lakh.
