Fort Catholic Girls’ School in Visakhapatnam marked its 175th anniversary celebrations with an inter-school fancy drill competition held at the Police Barracks grounds on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

The competition featured participation from St. John’s Parish School, St. Aloysius Anglo Indian High School, St. Joseph’s High School (Waltair), Queen Mary’s High School and St. Joseph’s High School, Araku, along with a non-competing presentation by the host school.

Students presented a variety of drill themes, including a Japanese fan drill, “Wings of Tomorrow” and an anti-drug awareness sequence. Fort Catholic Girls’ School presented a non-competing routine titled “Darkness to Light, Roots to Wings.”

St. Joseph’s High School, Araku, won the Overall Championship trophy as well as the Best Synchronisation award for its presentation on substance abuse. St. Aloysius Anglo Indian High School and St. Joseph’s High School, Waltair, shared the Runners-up Cup, while St. John’s Parish School secured third place.

Sr. Rose, former Provincial of St. Joseph of Annecy, Visakhapatnam Province, attended the event as the guest of honour and distributed the prizes. Alumni members also participated in the ceremony as torchbearers.

 

The event formed part of the ongoing celebrations marking 175 years of Fort Catholic Girls’ School in Visakhapatnam.
