Free Blood Test Camp for Diabetics Held in Vizag
A free blood test camp for diabetics was organized by the TPT Colony Residents Welfare Association as part of its social service initiative at Brindavan Park, TPT Colony, Visakhapatnam, on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
The camp was inaugurated by Commissioner of Police Sankhabrata Bagchi, who emphasized the severity of diabetes, describing it as a "silent killer." Sharing a personal note, he revealed that his mother had succumbed to the disease. He urged attendees to adopt regular exercise as a preventive measure to combat diabetes effectively.
Gorti Prasanna, president of Brindavan Park, stressed the importance of early detection and pre-diabetic measures, highlighting the growing prevalence of diabetes in India.
The event witnessed participation from 150 residents, with blood samples collected by technicians from Quantum Diagnostics. Renowned endocrinologists Dr. K. Dilip Kumar and Dr. K.B. Swamy also took part, providing valuable insights and guidance to attendees.
This initiative aimed to raise awareness about diabetes and encourage proactive health management within the community.
