Gadkari Announces ₹963.93 Crore Sanction for Six-Lane Highway in Visakhapatnam

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has announced the sanctioning of ₹963.93 crore for the construction of a six-lane access-controlled highway in Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh.

The 12.66-kilometer project will commence on the eastern side of Sabbavaram village and conclude near the GAIL office at Sheelanagar Junction on the existing port road. This corridor aims to ensure seamless cargo evacuation by eliminating traffic interferences and effectively segregating Sheelanagar-Anandapuram traffic, significantly enhancing connectivity to the Visakhapatnam Port and improving logistical efficiency.

The project is expected to alleviate traffic congestion along the Anakapalle to Sheelanagar stretch, providing substantial relief to commuters and improving the overall transportation infrastructure in the region.

Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan expressed gratitude to Minister Gadkari, stating that the project will not only reduce traffic congestion but also ensure seamless connectivity to Visakhapatnam Port, boosting economic growth. He added that Andhra Pradesh is making remarkable progress in infrastructure development under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

This development is part of the Union Government's ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and connectivity across the country, facilitating economic growth and development.
