Visakhapatnam: The BJP Gajuwaka constituency convener emphasized the potential for international-level recognition by nurturing sports talent among the youth in the region.

In a recent International Athletics Championship held in Sri Lanka, approximately 100 Indian athletes participated, with seven of them hailing from the Gajuwaka area. On Thursday, these outstanding athletes were honored for their achievements.

During the ceremony, Narasinga Rao commended the exceptional performance of the region's athletes, who not only clinched medals but also gained international recognition.

The winners received a heartfelt felicitation, complete with medals, certificates, and trophies. Among the dignitaries present were M Varaprasad, the General Secretary of the State Athletic Association, along with M Rama Rao, Sudhakar, and the victorious athletes themselves: Ansar, PS Naidu, V Krishnam Naidu, B Anuradha, and K Pydiraju.
