Former Principal of KV Waltair Faces CBI Charges Over Admission Irregularities
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has initiated legal action against the former principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Waltair, S. Sreenivasa Raja.
He stands accused of admitting 193 ineligible students over two academic years, relying on counterfeit service certificates allegedly issued by various Central government departments in exchange for bribes, according to sources disclosed on Thursday.
It has come to light that the CBI has officially filed two FIRs against the former principal. The charges pertain to the admission of 124 ineligible students during the 2022-23 academic year and 69 students in the 2021-22 academic year.
Reportedly, the former principal colluded with the parents of these students, engaging in financial transactions through UPI mode to facilitate the illicit admissions.
The irregularities came to light during an unannounced inspection of the school conducted in May of this year.
