In a significant move towards environmental sustainability, the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) marked a momentous occasion as Dr. M. Angamuthu, the VPA Chairman, inaugurated two CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) Buses and two Heavy Duty Truck Mounted Road Sweeping Machines at the port on Friday.

This marks the first introduction of CNG Buses in the port's automotive segment, aligning with the broader Green Port initiatives undertaken by VPA as part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Angamuthu emphasized the commitment of VPA to cleanliness and environmental stewardship.

The introduction of CNG vehicles and advanced sweeping machines is a strategic step towards maintaining Swachhata (cleanliness) throughout the Port premises and upholding high standards at the docks.

To support these initiatives, VPA has allocated a total expenditure of Rs. 9.68 crores over a three-year period.

This investment is a testament to VPA's dedication to environmental quality, as these projects are expected to play a pivotal role in achieving Clean Port Standards and enhancing the overall environmental sustainability of the port.

The visionary projects not only contribute to a cleaner and greener port but also position Vizag Port on the global stage.
