Gudisa : A hill station that gives you the best forest-like experience



Gudisa is a hill station located  40 km from Maredumilli, East Godavari District. The approach road to this dense forest is a single lane with trees and little streams of water running alongside. One can get a fantastic sunset view from the hilltop.

Located in the picturesque hills of AP, Gudisa is one of the less explored forests in South India. The region is famous for its thick jungles and the Maredumilli park, which is the perfect way to experience the natural beauty of this hill station. The interior part of Gudisa is full of thick jungles that boast a wealth of flora and fauna. The region's jungles are known for their tall trees, with some reaching up to 30 metres. 

To visit this place for sunset, one must stay at Rampachodavaram, as this place has got proper lodge facilities. If not, one can go campaigning at Maredumilli, as this place is famous for campaigning and campfire. Rajahmundry, Kakinada, and Samarlakota are the nearby towns to Maredumilli.

The other tourist spots near this place are Rampa Waterfalls, Bhupathipalem Reservoir, Jalatarangini Water Fall, Amurthadhara Water Fall, Manyam View Point, and Sokuleru Viewpoint.


The Bamboo Chicken, which is quite famous in the Araku regions, initially originated at Gudisa. Apart from this, the area is an excellent location for shooting. Would you believe that pan India film Pushpa was shot at Gudisa? Yes, yes, apart from this, many Malayalam films shooting take place in this forest. 

Overall this is a calm forest with minimal local population, and it is also slowly emerging as a tourist destination. From Visakhapatnam, Gudisa is around 270 km and would take approximately five to six hours.
