GVMC Cancels Property Tax Interest Charges

In Visakhapatnam, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has made a decision not to impose interest charges on property and vacant land tax dues.

This decision comes from the state government, aiming to ease the financial burden on taxpayers.

To benefit from this waiver, taxpayers need to settle their total tax dues by March 31st, following government guidelines.

GVMC Commissioner CM Saikanth Varma urged house owners and property taxpayers to take advantage of this opportunity.

To make payment easier, various online and offline options are available, including cash, debit/credit cards, and UPI.

Payment can be made at designated locations such as ward secretariats and specific bank branches. The commissioner emphasized the importance of tax contributions in the city's development.

To accommodate taxpayers, GVMC's main office and all zonal Saukaryam centres will have extended hours until March 31st, including Sundays and holidays.
