GVMC Modernisation Efforts Accelerate in Zonal Offices
Visakhapatnam: The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is making significant strides in modernising its zonal offices, with recent inspections highlighting the progress at the Bheemunipatnam and Madhurawada locations.
GVMC Commissioner CM Saikanth Varma, accompanied by engineering officials, conducted a thorough inspection of the ongoing work on Tuesday.
Commissioner Varma noted that the modernisation efforts at these zonal offices are nearing completion. He instructed SE Samsan Raju to expedite the remaining tasks to ensure the offices become fully operational as soon as possible.
During the inspection at the Madhurawada zonal office, Commissioner Varma reviewed the enhancements across various departments, focusing on the newly installed equipment, the upgraded meeting hall, and the newly facilitated washrooms.
At the Bheemunipatnam zonal office, the commissioner emphasized the need to accelerate the work across all departments. Specific instructions were given to install new tiles along the staircases and corridors wherever necessary and to ensure that all electrical wiring is properly concealed for safety and aesthetics.
Zonal Commissioners Shailajavalli and K Kanaka Mahalakshmi were tasked with ensuring the swift completion of the ongoing projects at both the Madhurawada and Bheemunipatnam offices.
In addition to the office modernisations, Commissioner Varma directed the engineering officials to expedite the construction of a fish market, vegetable market, and shopping complex in the Bheemunipatnam zone, aiming to enhance local infrastructure and support community needs.
The inspection team included Executive Engineer Shanti Raju, AMOH Kishore, Bheemunipatnam ACP Srinivasa Rao, AR Sivakumar, and other key officials, all working collaboratively to ensure the success of these modernisation initiatives.
