Indian Railways Launches Special Drives to Enhance Punctuality, Safety, and Passenger Amenities

In a concerted effort to enhance punctuality, safety, passenger amenities, and food quality, Indian Railways has launched special drives across its network.

This initiative follows directives from the Ministry of Railways and a recent review by the Railway Board.

Saurabh Prasad, Waltair Divisional Railway Manager, emphasized the objectives of these initiatives, which aim to minimize train detentions on critical stretches and address overcrowding, especially during peak travel times.

Joint teams, comprising members from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Commercial staff, are conducting extensive checks at major stations to ensure effective implementation of these drives.

These inspections focus on preventing unauthorized entry into reserved coaches and designated coaches for Divyangjan passengers and women travelers, according to the DRM.

Special teams have been deployed to inspect and ensure the functionality of passenger amenities at railway stations.

These inspections include monitoring waiting halls, catering units, parcel offices, and booking/reservation centers to ensure a seamless experience for passengers.

In addition to safety and passenger comfort, these special drives also focus on food quality and managing overcrowding within trains.

Over the next ten days, intensive drives will be conducted to emphasize food safety, prevent overcrowding, and implement necessary corrective actions, Mr. Saurabh Prasad added.
