Heavy Rain Causes Waterlogging in Visakhapatnam, IMD Warns of More Storms
Visakhapatnam: Heavy rain lashed Visakhapatnam for nearly three hours on Thursday, causing waterlogging and disrupting daily life.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) attributed the downpour to the remnants of a weakened low-pressure area (LOA) over the Bay of Bengal, along with other atmospheric conditions.
According to the IMD, "The LOA over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal, near the north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts, has moved west-northwest and weakened."
The IMD has also predicted thunderstorms with strong winds in the city, warning residents to expect similar conditions until September 30.
