Visakhapatnam: The Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL) has launched the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva-2024’ campaign, running until October 1.

The campaign focuses on the theme ‘Swabhav Swachhata-Sanskar Swachhata,’ promoting cleanliness and hygiene as a way of life.

Dr. Abraham Varughese, Director of NSTL, and HN Das, Chairman of the Works Committee, encouraged employees and their families to actively participate in the various ‘Swachhata’ activities. 

The campaign features a variety of events, including plantation drives around the NSTL technical area. To promote both fitness and cleanliness, a ‘Swachhata Run’ and a cleanliness drive were held, with over 100 enthusiastic participants cleaning a one-kilometer stretch.

NSTL also organized preventive health checkups for sanitation workers and distributed personal protective equipment (PPE) kits to ensure their safety from occupational hazards. Five key areas in the NSTL premises were identified for intensive cleaning, and accumulated waste was cleared.

Dr. Varughese praised the strong participation and emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness in both professional and personal lives.
