Hindustan Shipyard Limited, Visakhapatnam, is accelerating Shipbuilding and Ship repair on Eastern Seaboard at



The iconic Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) is implementing significant reforms in all facets of the Shipyard, keeping pace with evolving technology and a competitive marketplace. The expansion ambitions of maritime services such as the Indian Navy and Coast Guard have given the indigenous military Shipbuilding industry a much-needed boost.

Under the leadership of its C& MD, Mr Hemant Khatri, HSL reported the highest ever turnover of Rs 759 Crores since inception. In addition, it recorded a Net Profit of over 50 Crores and registered a YOY growth of 60%. With the Government encouraging and emphasising  Atmanirbhar Bharat, it's time to embark on a new phase of self-reliance by producing technologically advanced equipment in India, said its C& MD, Hemant Khatri. 


Armed with the vision to become an internationally competitive and modern shipyard for construction. Repairing and refitting ships and Submarines, the Shipyard is also venturing into a new partnership to enhance its technical capability and Overall growth further. He also said that new order for 5 FSS worth Rs 20,000 Cr by Dec 2022 would create a massive potential for MSMEs to participate in Mega Shipbuilding Programme.

Performance Highlights FY 2021-22:

1. highest ever turnover of Rs 759 (Prov.) since inception

2. recorded a Net Profit of over 50 Cr (Prov.)

3. registered a YOY growth of 60%.

4. won five successive Ship Repair Orders worth Rs 230 Cr.

5. completed Repair of 17 ships on time.

6. delivered four 50T BP Tugs in 3 months.

7. repaired two foreign ships.

8. major infrastructure augmentation is in progress
