Hindustan Shipyard Ltd Observes Fire Service Week: Promoting Fire Safety and Prevention

Hindustan Shipyard Ltd (HSL) recently observed Fire Service Week with the theme "Serve to Save Lives and Property" from April 14–20, 2023. The week-long event was aimed at raising awareness about fire safety and prevention, as well as highlighting the importance of fire service personnel in protecting lives and property.

Throughout the week, various activities were conducted to promote fire safety, including mock evacuations and live firefighting drills. These activities provided valuable hands-on experience in handling fire emergencies and demonstrated the importance of following safe work practices to prevent accidents.

On the occasion of the closing ceremony of Fire Service Week, a pocket brochure containing DOs and DONTs on fire safety was released by Cmdr. Hemant Khatri, C&MD HSL. This brochure serves as a handy guide for all employees to refer to and follow in case of a fire emergency.

During his address to the employees, C&MD, HSL, appreciated the fire service personnel for their alertness and dedication to ensuring fire accident-free operations in FY 2022–23, despite HSL achieving double production in FY 2022–23 over the previous year. He emphasized the importance of preventing fire accidents by following safe work practices and being vigilant at all times.

As part of Fire Service Week, various competitions were also organized to promote fire safety awareness among employees. The winners of these competitions were awarded prizes by CMD and HSL.

The event was attended by the directors, all employees of HSL, and office bearers of the recognized union. The successful observance of Fire Service Week by HSL highlights the company's commitment to promoting fire safety and prevention and ensuring the well-being of its employees.
