Vizag Port Poised for Transformation as Bulk Cargo Hub

Visakhapatnam Port is celebrating a significant milestone with the arrival of the MV Huahine, the largest vessel ever to carry cargo to India.

This Newcastlemax size vessel, measuring 300 meters in length and 50 meters in beam width, has brought an unprecedented 1,99,900 MT of manganese ore from Gabon, Central Africa. The vessel docked at the Vizag General Cargo Berth, a BoT berth managed by Vedanta, with an arrival draft of 18.46 meters.

Port Chairman M. Angamuthu expressed the port’s excitement and commitment to supporting such ambitious initiatives.

"We are thrilled to facilitate this historic event and are dedicated to transforming Vizag Port into a premier hub for bulk cargo transhipment in the future," Angamuthu stated.

This momentous occasion marks a pivotal step in Vizag Port's journey towards becoming a leading transhipment hub, showcasing its capability to handle large-scale cargo operations efficiently.
