Historic Triumph: Andhra Pradesh Secures First Podium Finish in National Breaking Championship 2023

It is with immense pride that I announce Andhra Pradesh's groundbreaking achievement in Breaking (Breakdancing - An Olympic Sport) at the recently concluded 3rd National Breaking Championship 2023.

The two-day championship, held on December 9-10, 2023, at LNCT University, Bhopal, witnessed fierce competition among athletes from various states of India.

Organized by the Breakdance Federation of India (BFI) under the aegis of the Amateur DanceSport Federation of India (ADSFI), the event showcased exceptional talent and skill.

Our team from Andhra Pradesh, led by AP State Official & Senior Coach Sohail Singh Gill, represented the DB Breakdance Association of Visakhapatnam and Madhu's AIM Fitness & Dance Floor.

The panel of judges included National Judges Bboy Wasim and Bboy Nabeel, along with International Judge Bboy Kosto from Russia.

In the Solo Junior Bboys category, participants P. Chaitanya, M. Jathin, U. Anurag, Vivaan Jain, R. Ishanth, and K. CH. Lalitaditya from Visakhapatnam competed in the preliminary round.

Although only Chaitanya, Vivaan, and Ishanth advanced to the quarter-finals, they were unable to progress further in the championship. Despite this, P. Chaitanya, Vivaan Jain, and R. Ishanth now hold Top 8 Bboys (Juniors) rankings at the All India Level, according to the Breakdance Federation of India.

The Solo Juniors Bgirl category featured Aashita Swaraj, B. Nikshitha Sri, and D.V. Dhriti Shree from Visakhapatnam. Aashita and Nikshitha advanced to the semi-finals, where Aashita emerged victorious in the battle for the Bronze Medal, securing her place as the champion.

In the Junior Bgirls category, the final results for Team AP were remarkable: B. Nikshitha Sri achieved the rank of #4 (All India Level), and Aashitha Swaraj proudly earned the Bronze Medal.

D. Shreya, also known as Bgirl Shreya from Vizag, represented Andhra Pradesh in the Senior Bgirls Category.

A consistent participant since 2021, she navigated through the prelims, quarter-finals, and semi-finals to reach the Bronze Medal Round, where she emerged victorious, securing the Bronze Medal for Andhra Pradesh in the Senior Bgirls Category.

This historic triumph marks a significant milestone for Andhra Pradesh in the realm of breakdancing.
