Visakhapatnam: King George Hospital (KGH) is on its way to becoming a healthcare institution that rivals corporate hospitals, according to A Mallikarjuna, the district collector.

Thanks to the Nadu-Nedu scheme and contributions from private companies through corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, KGH has witnessed significant development, with the installation of advanced medical equipment and the provision of various amenities.

HPCL, with an investment of Rs 5.16 crore, has played a pivotal role in bringing these enhancements to KGH. They have facilitated the acquisition of advanced medical equipment, oxygen facilities, stretchers, and more.

These vital improvements were inaugurated at the CSR block of the hospital in the presence of HPCL's Executive Director, V Ratanraj, Chief General Manager Kiran Kumar, KGH Superintendent P Ashok Kumar, and a dedicated team of doctors.

District Collector A Mallikarjuna announced that HPCL would continue to extend its support for the ongoing development of KGH.

He commended HPCL for its contributions in providing new and advanced facilities to the hospital. Additionally, the collector expressed the intention to engage in discussions with other companies, encouraging them to follow HPCL's example and contribute to the hospital's advancement. As part of the occasion, nine ambulances, equipped with modern features, were also inaugurated.

The increased facilities at KGH signify a significant improvement in the quality of healthcare services available to patients, ensuring they receive the best possible treatment. The event was attended by CPO Srinivasa Rao, APMSIDC EE Naidu, doctors, and various other officials.
