Implementation of Biometric Attendance at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Raises Concerns

The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant has announced plans to introduce biometric attendance for its 29,000 employees starting March 8.

However, union leaders have voiced concerns, alleging that the new policy is a tactic to harass employees and pave the way for the privatization of the steel plant.

In other news, the third Wireless, Antenna & Microwave Symposium (WAMS 2024) is set to take place at Raghu Educational Institutions from February 29 to March 3.

General chair of the conference, PSR Chowdary, confirmed the event, which will see JNTU Vizianagaram Vice-Chancellor K. Venkata Subbaiah inaugurating the proceedings.

Approximately 300 delegates are expected to present 200 research papers during the symposium.
