In Andhra Pradesh, out of the total 3,396 liquor shops, 345 have been licensed to women, representing 10.2% of the total licenses.
This marks a significant step towards promoting female entrepreneurship in the traditionally male-dominated liquor industry.
Visakhapatnam leads the way, with women securing licenses for 31 liquor shops in the district, reflecting a growing trend of female participation in this sector.
On the other hand, Bapatla district recorded the lowest participation, with only one shop being licensed to a woman.
This shift indicates a broader movement towards gender inclusivity in business, paving the way for more opportunities for women in various industries across the state.
