Indian Defence Officials Prepared for MILAN-2024 Beginning in Visakhapatnam on February 19(Today).
Fifty-one countries had confirmed their participation in the international maritime event, with ships from 15 countries anchored in Visakhapatnam as of February 18, according to officials.
The Indian Defence officials had been busy for the past few days ahead of MILAN-2024, which was scheduled to begin in two phases there on February 19 (Today).
The delegations had landed with their ships and aircraft in the days leading up to MILAN-2024 at Visakhapatnam, the base of the Eastern Naval Command (ENC).
Ships from around 15 countries and aircraft from one country had landed in the city by Sunday (February 18). A total of 51 countries had confirmed their participation in MILAN-2024.
Additionally, the Command had welcomed Corvette 20 of the Vietnam People’s Navy at Visakhapatnam to strengthen maritime cooperation and regional security, the spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, the rehearsals of ENC had been conducted at the RK Beach road and also in the Bay of Bengal along the beach on Sunday evening.
The Sea Cadet Corps, Indian Navy band, among others, had demonstrated their skills as part of the rehearsals for the Air Power Demonstration & City Parade’ programs of MILAN-2024, scheduled to be held on February 22.
Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had been the chief guest for this program.
