The grand inauguration is scheduled for 11 a.m. on October 16, with the Chief Minister taking the opportunity to engage with the IT employees on the campus during his visit.
The announcement was made by Andhra Pradesh's Information Technology Minister, Gudivada Amarnath, who further emphasized the government's vision to elevate Visakhapatnam to the status of other prominent IT cities. The aim is to attract leading global companies to Vizag, thereby bolstering the IT sector within the state.
According to Minister Amarnath, Infosys has shown its commitment by initiating operations in Visakhapatnam, with plans to start with an initial workforce of 1,000 employees and future expansion on the horizon.
"The government has already taken the initiative to make Visakhapatnam a beach IT destination," Minister Amarnath added, highlighting the strategic approach to the development of this IT hub.
It is anticipated that the presence of Infosys will act as a catalyst, attracting other major IT players to the city, thereby boosting the IT ecosystem in Visakhapatnam.
The Minister expressed his optimism that Infosys will ultimately offer job opportunities to around 3,000 individuals, promising unwavering support from the state government.
