ITDA Celebrates International Coffee Day in Rural Ambience with Araku Coffee

Visakhapatnam: Celebrating the global journey of coffee, the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) is marking International Coffee Day (ICD) in a unique rural setting on October 3, at the Coffee Board's Technology Evaluation Centre in Minumuluru, Paderu, ASR district.

The event, themed "Embracing Collaboration for Collective Action," will feature an exhibition by Araku coffee growers showcasing a variety of locally grown coffee. Araku Coffee, a symbol of the state's heritage, holds a special place in these celebrations.

While the Green Coffee Company (GCC) is participating in the event, its Managing Director Kalpana Kumari emphasized that GCC focuses on procurement rather than marketing. Meanwhile, GCC will soon open its own coffee shop at India Gate, New Delhi.

ICD highlights fair-trade practices and the challenges faced by coffee growers, with the International Coffee Organisation (ICO) leading this year's campaign under the slogan, “Coffee: Your Daily Ritual, Our Shared Journey.” This event draws attention to the collective effort needed to support sustainable coffee production and promote local growers.
