In a significant contribution to healthcare, the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has bolstered the capabilities of Visakhapatnam's Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital with a generous donation of advanced retina equipment.
This initiative comes under the auspices of LIC's golden jubilee foundation.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the hospital premises on Thursday, saw L K Shamsunder, Zonal Manager of LIC South Central Zone, Hyderabad, officially unveil the state-of-the-art equipment.
Joining him were Puneet Kumar, Zonal Manager of LIC South Central Zone, and K Radhakrishnan, General Manager of Sankar Foundation, alongside officials from both organizations.
The newly installed equipment includes spectral domain Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) and a fundus camera, collectively valued at Rs 45.50 lakh.
