Major Reshuffle in Visakhapatnam Police Leadership: New Law and Order DCPs Appointed

In a significant development for the Visakhapatnam Police Commissionerate, the State Government executed a reshuffle of IPS officers, announcing key changes in law and order responsibilities.

The post of Joint Commissioner of Police, which had long remained vacant, was revived, and K. Fakeerappa, former Superintendent of Police, Crime Investigation Department (CID), was appointed to the position.

Deputy Inspector General (Visakha Range) S. Hari Krishna was transferred to the role of Inspector General of Police (Personnel).

Simultaneously, Vishal Gunni, former Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) in Vijayawada, assumed the role of DIG Visakha Range.

The reshuffling also impacted the positions of Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) for Law & Order in Zone I and II.

K. Srinivasa Rao and K. Anand Reddy, the incumbents, were both transferred. The post of DCP Zone I was filled by 2018-batch IPS officer Manikanta Chandolu, previously serving as Additional SP, Special Enforcement Bureau, Srikakulam.

Moka Satyanarayana, former DCP Law & Order II in Vijayawada, took over as the new DCP Law & Order II for Visakhapatnam.

Notably, both K. Fakeerappa and Vishal Gunni bring valuable experience from their previous roles in the undivided Visakhapatnam district, contributing to the reinforcement of law and order in the region.

The reshuffle aims to optimize leadership roles within the police force for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
