Major Tragedy Averted as APSRTC Bus Catches Fire After Passengers Alight in Visakhapatnam



An APSRTC bus caught fire in Visakhapatnam on Saturday morning.
The bus belonged to the Nellore-1 Depot under Zone 3.
It had started its journey from Nellore at around 5 p.m. on Friday.
The bus reached Dwaraka Bus Station at approximately 7 a.m. on Saturday.
All passengers had safely alighted after reaching the station.
Parcel services were also completely unloaded before the incident occurred.
The empty bus was then being moved towards the Waltair Depot.
While on the way, the driver noticed smoke coming from the vehicle.
He immediately stopped the bus and alerted the Assistant Engineer, Assistant Manager and Depot Manager.
Fire personnel were called to the spot and brought the blaze under control.
The bus was reportedly severely damaged in the fire, but no passengers were injured.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
