SCoR Begins Vigilance Awareness Week
South Coast Railway (SCoR) has launched Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 at its headquarters in Visakhapatnam, reaffirming its commitment to integrity and ethical practices in public service.
The programme began on October 26, with General Manager Sandeep Mathur administering the integrity pledge to principal heads of departments, senior officials and staff members. The initiative aims to strengthen awareness of corruption prevention and encourage transparent decision-making across the railway organisation.
Theme: Probity for Prosperity
This year's theme, “Probity for Prosperity,” highlights the importance of honesty, accountability and ethical conduct in building public trust and improving governance.
Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed across India from October 26 to November 1, 2026, in connection with the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Awareness Activities Across Railway Divisions
SCoR is conducting activities across its Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur and Guntakal divisions. The programme includes seminars, interactive sessions, essay-writing competitions, debates and drawing competitions to promote vigilance awareness among railway employees and the public.
A guest lecture by S. Kishore, a retired IAS officer and former Chairman of the Staff Selection Commission, was also part of the programme.
Promoting Transparency in Public Service
Through the week-long campaign, South Coast Railway aims to encourage employees to follow established procedures, act responsibly and maintain high standards of integrity in their professional duties.
The initiative also highlights the role of preventive vigilance in improving public service delivery and strengthening public confidence in government institutions.
