'Malabar 2024' Maritime Exercise Set to Begin in Visakhapatnam
The multinational maritime exercise 'Malabar 2024' will take place from October 8 to 18, starting with the harbour phase in Visakhapatnam and followed by the sea phase.
Hosted by India, this year's event will include participation from Australia, Japan, and the United States.
The exercise will feature Indian naval platforms such as guided missile destroyers, frigates, submarines, and aircraft, while Australia, the U.S., and Japan will field their advanced naval ships and aircraft.
‘Malabar 2024’ will focus on enhancing cooperation through complex maritime operations, including anti-submarine warfare and air defense drills.
A distinguished visitors' day is scheduled for October 9, hosted by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar. This year’s edition promises to be the most comprehensive since the exercise began in 1992, fostering greater interoperability among the nations.
