Maoists Issue Warning to Private Educational Institutions Over Exploitative Fee Practices
Visakhapatnam: The Communist Party of India (Maoist) has issued a stern warning to the managements of private educational institutions, accusing them of violating the Right to Education Act and engaging in exploitative fee collection from students, thereby burdening parents.
The Maoists have threatened severe consequences for the private college administrators and officials of the Education Department who fail to take appropriate action against these unfair practices.
In a statement released on Saturday, Azad of Kothagudem-Alluri Sitharama Raju (BK-ASR) Division Committee, representing the Maoist group, highlighted the alleged violations committed by private colleges. According to the Maoists, these institutions are taking advantage of parents' aspirations to provide their children with a quality education by charging exorbitant fees.
The statement asserts that private college managements are capitalizing on the demand for admissions in private institutions and exploiting the situation to their advantage. This practice not only goes against the principles outlined in the Right to Education Act but also causes significant financial strain on parents and families.
The Maoists have expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of action from both private college authorities and officials of the Education Department in addressing these issues. As a result, they have issued a warning, emphasizing that if the exploitation continues unchecked, severe repercussions will follow.
The warning serves as a reminder to private educational institutions to adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Right to Education Act. It also emphasizes the need for swift action from the relevant authorities to investigate and resolve these allegations of exploitative fee practices.
The Maoists' statement reflects the growing concern over the rising cost of education in private institutions, which often results in limited access to quality education for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The issue of inflated fees and financial burdens placed on parents calls for a comprehensive and fair approach to education, ensuring that every child has equal opportunities to receive an education without being subjected to exploitative practices.
