Chasing a challenging target, Mumbai got off to a promising start with openers Rohit Sharma and Dewald Brevis forging an 88-run partnership. Naveen-ul-Haq broke the stand by dismissing Brevis for 23 runs off 20 balls. Suryakumar Yadav followed soon, departing without scoring.

Rohit Sharma's Effort:
Rohit Sharma led from the front, scoring a brilliant 68 off 38 balls, which included 10 fours and three sixes, striking at 178.94. However, his efforts were in vain as wickets fell at regular intervals.


Middle Order Struggles:
Hardik Pandya contributed 16 runs before being caught off Mohsin Khan's delivery. Nehal Wadhera managed only one run, and Ishan Kishan added 14 runs. Naman Dheer provided some late fireworks, remaining unbeaten on 62 off 26 balls, featuring four fours and five sixes with a strike rate of 221.42. Romario Shepherd also remained not out, scoring just one run.

Bowling Excellence from Lucknow:
Lucknow's bowlers delivered under pressure, with Ravi Bishnoi and Naveen-ul-Haq each taking two crucial wickets. Krunal Pandya and Mohsin Khan chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Rain Interrupts Play:
The match experienced a rain interruption during Mumbai's innings, but resumed without a reduction in overs. At that point, Mumbai was 33/0 after 3.5 overs, with Rohit and Brevis unbeaten.

Impact on Standings:
Despite their victory, Lucknow's net run rate of -0.667 poses a challenge for their playoff qualification. Mumbai Indians, under Hardik Pandya's leadership, had a disappointing season, finishing 10th with eight points after losing 10 of their 14 matches.
