Nationwide Bike Expedition Advocates for Men’s Welfare Commission

Visakhapatnam: In a pioneering effort to advocate for men's welfare, the Men Welfare Trust (MWT), in collaboration with Save Indian Family (SIF), has embarked on a nationwide bike expedition aimed at garnering support for the establishment of a Men’s Welfare Commission in India.

The expedition, which began on May 26 from Gurugram, is being led by bikers Dr. Amjadkhan Nadim Shaikh and Sandeep Pawaria. Their mission is to gather one lakh signatures while covering over 15,000 kilometers across the country to raise awareness about critical issues affecting men, including rising male suicides, misuse of gender-based laws, domestic violence against men, and parental alienation.

After traversing through major cities such as Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Siliguri, Kolkata, and Bhubaneswar, the bikers reached Visakhapatnam on Sunday.

Upon arrival in Visakhapatnam, Dr. Amjadkhan Nadim Shaikh emphasized the dual purpose of their journey: raising awareness and driving tangible change. He encouraged individuals to join their cause by signing and sharing the petition to promote gender equality and justice for all.

D. Srinivasa Rao, one of the founders of Save Family Harmony, Andhra Pradesh Chapter of SIF, welcomed the bikers and highlighted the urgent need for a Men’s Welfare Commission and a dedicated Women and Child Welfare Commission.

Rao pointed out that many men in India suffer financially, physically, mentally, and morally due to gender-biased laws, which are often misused by some women and certain legal practitioners. He expressed hope that the bike expedition would help address the challenges faced by men.

The next leg of the expedition will take the riders through Guntur, Chennai, Rameswaram, Kanyakumari, Thrissur, Goa, Kolhapur, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Jammu, Kargil, Leh, Manali, Shimla, Dehradun, and Haridwar.

The expedition is supported by a Change.org petition titled "Support the Ride for Men’s Commission initiative to address men’s issues in India," which calls for the establishment of a dedicated commission for men's welfare. The bikers, along with SIF AP chapter members, have been gathering signatures from locals to bolster their cause.

This historic bike expedition aims to bring much-needed attention to men’s welfare issues in India and foster a more balanced approach to gender equality.
