strong>Vizag city police have prohibited New year celebrations on the beach road in Vizag for the second consecutive year due to pandemic. Vehicles will not be allowed to travel in the RK beach road. There are restrictions on place for the movement of vehicles on the stretch from RK beach to Bheemili beach. Many hotels have started preparations to host events for new year wishing to get permissions from the police this year.

Beach Road stretch starting from Yarada beach to Bheemili beachwill be closed for public right from 6pm on December 31.
 

To restrict celebrations and public gatherings in the beach stretch, special police teams have been formed. The special teams will keep a check on drinking in public places and conduct drunk and drive tests, check on bike races. No permissions were given for DJ nights and no permissions for mass events in hotels, resorts too.

Liquor outlets in the city will be closed as early as possible on the New year's eve in Visakhapatnam. All mass events, cake cuttings, public gatherings on the road and bursting of fire crackers and other such activities will be banned.
