Nitrogen Pressure Reducing Stations Inaugurated at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to Boost Productivity and Reduce Costs

Visakhapatnam: RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (RINL-VSP) has inaugurated nitrogen pressure reducing stations in all three of its blast furnaces to enhance productivity and lower production costs, as announced in a release on Monday.

Key Benefits:

Increased Productivity:

The new stations will boost the plant’s pulverised coal injection (PCI) rate from the current 100 kg per ton of hot metal to approximately 180 kg per ton in the three blast furnaces.

Cost Reduction:

Director of Projects A.K. Bagchi emphasized the importance of reducing production costs and highlighted that these initiatives by the RINL collective are crucial for the plant's turnaround.

Mr. Bagchi noted that such measures are essential to improve efficiency and support the overall financial health of RINL. This development is a significant step towards achieving higher productivity and cost-effectiveness at the steel plant.
