Pendurthi Police Seize 20 kg of Marijuana near Pinagadi
The Pendurthi police have apprehended two women and confiscated approximately 20 kg of marijuana near Pinagadi.
Along with the marijuana, the police also seized around ₹49,000 in cash and two mobile phones from the women in custody.
The smuggling operation was using government transportation services. The Pendurthi police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
As part of the investigation, West Division ACP Annepu Narasimha Murthy spoke to the media. He mentioned that after the formation of the new government, a 100-day action plan was implemented to eradicate marijuana and other narcotic substances.
Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi has issued strict orders to take stringent measures against marijuana eradication. Visakhapatnam is a favorable transit point for the transportation of marijuana from agency areas to various parts of the country.
The police are planning to block all routes used for transporting marijuana from agency areas to Visakhapatnam. Nearly 20 checkpoints are being set up, and advanced technology is being utilized to detect drugs.
Special surveillance and inspections are being conducted on routes where drug transportation occurs. The initial inspections have already yielded positive results.
ACP Annepu Narasimha Murthy urged the public to inform the police if they have any information related to drug activities.
