New Clock Tower Enhances Jagadamba Centre's Appeal in Visakhapatnam
VISAKHAPATNAM: Jagadamba Centre, one of Visakhapatnam's most iconic junctions, is set to become even more attractive with the addition of a new clock tower.
The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is in the final stages of constructing this landmark feature.
The clock tower, designed to enhance the aesthetic appeal of Jagadamba Centre, is nearing completion. GVMC officials plan to inaugurate it soon, adding a new visual and functional element to the bustling junction.
The project, costing Rs. 2 crore, includes a comprehensive revamp of the area, with landscaping and special lighting effects to beautify the surroundings.
The clock tower stands tall and is designed to be visible from all angles within the junction. It features a pendulum that rings every hour, adding a dynamic auditory element to the location.
The median is also being enhanced with greenery, contributing to the overall beautification effort.
Jagadamba Centre, home to the famous theatre complex, will soon boast a 60-feet clock tower, making it a new focal point in the city.
This project adds to Visakhapatnam's list of attractive spots, joining the ranks of the historic clock at King George Hospital, which dates back to the pre-Independence era.
