MLA Calls for Modernization of Railway Drainage and Infrastructure in Visakhapatnam
VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakha West MLA P. Ganababu of the TDP has requested Waltair Railway Divisional Manager Saurabh Prasad to initiate modernization projects,
Including drainage upgrades, subway road repairs, a new foot-over bridge, and other improvements.
During a meeting with the DRM, MLA Ganababu emphasized the urgent need to modernize the drainage system running from Bucchiraju Palem to Kancharapalem via NAD Kotta Rao, Karasa, and Syam Nagar, in collaboration with the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC).
He highlighted the health risks posed by seasonal and viral fevers during the rainy season if these issues are not addressed promptly.
Additionally, MLA Ganababu urged the DRM to prioritize the repair of the Rammurthy Pantulupeta subway and to establish a walking track between Chakaligedda Madhum and Venkatapuram (89th ward).
Given the ongoing development works at Simhachalam Railway Station and the associated traffic congestion, he proposed alternative routes and solutions to alleviate the situation.
He also requested immediate repairs on the existing foot-over bridge connecting the Railway Station to Chandanagar to ensure public safety and accessibility until a new foot-over bridge is constructed.
