Phones and Other Electronic Devices are Not Permitted in the SSC Public Examination Centres, Even by Staff
Phones are prohibited for exam centre staff and invigilators for the upcoming 10th standard SSC public examinations in Andhra Pradesh to prevent malpractices or unfair practices during the exams. The ban will be strictly enforced to ensure that the exams are conducted fairly and that the examination process's integrity is preserved. The school department has stated that chief superintendents, departmental officers, invigilators, and other personnel will not be permitted to bring cell phones or other electronic devices to exam centres.
If staff and invigilators are permitted to carry phones or other electronic devices during exams, there is a risk that they will use them to help students cheat. They may, for example, communicate with students outside the exam room and provide them with answers or hints. Until the 2022 SSC exams, departmental staff and invigilators carried mobile phones, more teachers were caught cheating than students in the 2022 exams.
The education department hopes to eliminate any possibility of malpractice or unfair practices during exams by prohibiting phones for staff and invigilators. The exam centres will be closely monitored, and any violations of the rules will be severely punished. Students will be permitted to arrive at the examination centre at 8:45 a.m. Only from 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. will candidates be permitted to enter the examination centre. Except in cases of emergency, candidates will not be permitted to leave the examination hall between 9:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Orders were released stating that to avoid cheating, the chief superintendent, departmental officer, and invigilators must ensure that candidates do not take the question papers outside the examination hall before 12:45 p.m.
