Police Seize 30 kg of Ganja in Major Bust at Vizag Railway Station
Visakhapatnam: In a recent operation, the Visakhapatnam city police, aided by a specially trained narcotics sniffer dog, successfully seized approximately 30 kilograms of ganja at the city’s railway station. The joint operation was conducted by the city task force in collaboration with the Dog Squad, underscoring a heightened focus on curbing drug trafficking in the area.
The confiscated ganja has been transferred to the Government Railway Police (GRP) for further investigation, which is expected to trace the source and destination of the narcotics. This bust aligns with the proactive measures being undertaken by the Visakhapatnam police to combat drug-related activities in the region.
In a bid to strengthen this mission, the city’s police commissioner has initiated a comprehensive program to bolster the police force with additional canine resources. As part of this initiative, eight sniffer dogs have been dispatched to a specialized training center. Once trained, they will be deployed across strategic locations to assist in future narcotics operations, reinforcing the city's ongoing commitment to public safety and crime prevention.
