Prime Minister Modi Praises Araku Valley Coffee and GCC Efforts
Visakhapatnam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his "Mann Ki Baat" address, praised the role of the Girijan Cooperative Corporation (GCC) in promoting Araku Valley coffee on a global scale.
Highlighting its unique aroma and taste, he encouraged listeners to try it. The GCC, in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh government, has significantly contributed to the tribal economy, enabling 150,000 tribal families to achieve financial empowerment through coffee cultivation.
PM Modi reminisced about enjoying Araku coffee with former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu during a visit to Visakhapatnam.
He showcased photos of the event and emphasized the coffee's global recognition, including awards and its prominence at the G20 summit in Delhi.
GCC's Role in Economic Empowerment:
GCC Vice Chairman and Managing Director, G. Suresh Kumar, expressed pride in Modi's acknowledgment of their efforts. He noted that the Prime Minister's inspiring words would boost the morale of tribal coffee farmers and all involved in the coffee cultivation process.
He affirmed that Araku coffee plays a significant role in the economic empowerment of the tribal communities.
