Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to embark on a significant visit to Visakhapatnam on March 1st, where he will initiate a series of pivotal central projects.
Among these projects is the inauguration of the HPCL refinery expansion, a monumental endeavor costing 26,000 crore. The expansion under the Visakha refinery modernization project has substantially increased the refinery's capacity from 8.3 to 15 million metric tonnes per annum.
Anticipated to address a public gathering at Andhra University grounds, the PM's visit holds significant promise for the region's development.
Ahead of his arrival, District Collector A Mallikarjuna and other officials meticulously inspected the venue to ensure seamless arrangements.
Joining the inspection were key figures including Vizag Police Commissioner A Ravishankar, GVMC Commissioner CM Saikanth Varma, Additional Commissioner KS Vishwanathan, and representatives from HPCL.
The Collector emphasized the necessity for robust security measures, adequate infrastructure, and essential facilities such as drinking water and sanitation.
During his visit, Modi will also lay the foundation stones for the redevelopment of 13 stations under the Amrit Bharat scheme and dedicate 10 Road Under Bridges (RUBs) in the Guntur division through virtual means.
This initiative marks a significant stride towards enhancing transportation infrastructure and connectivity.
In a prior phase of the Amrit Bharat scheme, the PM laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 508 railway stations nationwide.
In this forthcoming phase, he will extend this effort by inaugurating the redevelopment of 554 railway stations, including 13 in Andhra Pradesh.
The projects set for launch on March 1st signify a concerted effort towards fostering growth and progress in Visakhapatnam and beyond.
