Private College Students in Visakhapatnam Allege Harassment Over Academic Performance
In Visakhapatnam, students from a private junior college in Madhurawada have raised serious concerns about harassment related to their academic performance and inadequate campus facilities.
In a desperate attempt to bring attention to their struggles, the students wrote down their grievances on paper slips and tossed them out of their hostel windows. These notes, detailing issues with harassment and poor living conditions, were discovered by local media personnel, who subsequently informed the authorities.
Although the incident took place on the evening of September 22 (Sunday), it gained attention the following day, September 23 (Monday), after the Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) became involved.
In response to the allegations, the APSCPCR requested a report from the Regional Inspection Officer (RIO) to investigate the situation further.
The students' actions highlight ongoing concerns about the treatment of young learners and the conditions they face while pursuing their education. Authorities are expected to take swift action to ensure the students' safety and well-being, as well as to address the broader issues of campus management and academic pressure.
