Railway Route Alterations: Eight Trains to Take Diverted Path from January 1
In a significant update, eight trains are set to follow a diverted route, bypassing their usual Visakhapatnam-Duvvada-Vijayawada-Warangal-Ballarsh path.
The altered route will take them via Vizianagaram-Rayagada-Titlagarh-Raipur-Nagpur from January 1 to 12.
This change is attributed to pre-interlocking and non-interlocking works required for the commissioning of a third railway line at Hasanparthi Road-Uppal stations in the Kazipet-Ballarsh section of the Secunderabad division of South Central Railway.
The affected trains include the 20805/06 Visakhapatnam–New Delhi-Visakhapatnam AP Express, 20803/04 Visakhapatnam–Gandhidham-Visakhapatnam Superfast, 12803/04 Visakhapatnam–H.Nizamuddin Swarnajayanthi-Visakhapatnam Superfast, and 20819/20 Puri-Okha-Puri Superfast.
In addition to the route diversion, two trains are slated for cancellation, and four trains will be short-terminated under the Waltair railway division. This adjustment is necessitated by interlocking works for the commissioning of a double line between Damanjodi and Baiguda stations.
The 18511/12 Visakhapatnam-Koraput-Visakhapatnam Intercity Express will be cancelled on January 1 & 2 and 5 & 6. The 18107/08 Rourkela-Jagdalpur-Rourkela Express will be short-terminated on January 1 & 2 and 6 & 7 at Rayagada and Titlagarh.
Moreover, the 18006 Jagdalpur – Howrah Samaleswari Express will commence its journey from Titlagarh instead of Jagdalpur from January 3 to 7. Commuters are advised to plan their travels accordingly during this period of route adjustments.
