Record Hundi Collections at Simhachalam Temple

Visakhapatnam: The Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Simhachalam has reported record hundi (donation box) collections, amassing ₹3.56 crore over the last 28 days.

Alongside the substantial cash donations, the temple received gold ornaments weighing 142.100 grams and silver ornaments weighing 28.440 kilograms. This information was revealed in a statement issued by the temple's executive officer, S. Srinivasa Murthy, on Wednesday.

The counting process involved 40 hundis at the temple, with 15 hundis being counted on May 27 and the remaining 25 on May 28.

This meticulous process was conducted under the supervision of temple officials to ensure transparency and accuracy. Among the cash donations, foreign currencies were also noted, including US $134 and 47 currencies from Indonesia, Malaysia, and other countries.

The unprecedented collections reflect the devotion and generosity of the temple's patrons and devotees, who continue to support the temple's activities and upkeep.

The significant inflow of donations will likely aid in further enhancing the temple's infrastructure and service offerings, benefitting both the local community and visiting pilgrims.
