Special NCC Yachting Training Camp Sets Sail in Visakhapatnam
In a bid to nurture young talents in yachting, the inaugural edition of the 'Special NCC Yachting Training Camp (SYTC) – 2024' was held in Visakhapatnam.
Organized by the NCC group headquarters and coordinated by 4(A) Naval Medical Unit NCC, the camp saw the enthusiastic participation of 40 naval wing NCC cadets, including 14 girls, from various states.
Spread over eight days from April 2, the camp aimed to train cadets for national and international yachting competitions. Hosted at the Indian Navy Watermanship Training Centre (INWTC), the event provided hands-on training in sailing enterprise class dinghies, rope work, and boat rigging.
Under the guidance of seasoned instructors and in collaboration with the Eastern Naval Command, Indian Naval Sailing Association (INSA), and INS Circars, cadets also had the opportunity to explore canoeing, kayaking, and laser standard dinghy sailing.
The camp concluded with a closing ceremony graced by Commodore Happy Mohan, Commanding Officer of INS Circars, who lauded the participants and distributed certificates and prizes to the meritorious cadets.
