Speed Boat Ride Suspended at Rushikonda Beach in Visakhapatnam due to Low Pressure Formation

Visakhapatnam's popular Rushikonda Beach has suspended its thrilling speed boat ride due to unfavorable weather conditions. The decision came in response to the rough sea conditions caused by a low-pressure formation over the Bay of Bengal.

Organizers have taken this precautionary measure to ensure the safety of visitors and staff. The service will resume as soon as the weather conditions normalize. However, there are concerns that the low-pressure system may intensify and transform into a depression.

The influence of this weather system is expected to bring rain to various parts of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wind speeds are anticipated to range from 30 to 40 kmph during this period.

The city experienced continuous rain during the previous week under the impact of a similar low-pressure system, disrupting daily life. The recurrence of the low-pressure formation is now a cause of concern for the residents.

Recently, there was an incident at Rushikonda Beach where a speed boat operated by the APTDC (Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation) overturned. Two tourists and the boat's driver fell into the sea during the incident.

Fortunately, the presence of life jackets on the tourists played a crucial role, and lifeguards acted swiftly to rescue them. An official from the corporation stated that the mishap occurred when a strong wind unexpectedly hit the boat.

For now, visitors to Rushikonda Beach will have to wait for the weather conditions to improve before they can enjoy the exhilarating speed boat ride again. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will prioritize safety when deciding to resume the activity.
